Lifestyle changes needed for weight loss

No doubt that dieting is a complete life style change for any serious dieter. The first and foremost important life style change will be your train of thought. Dieting is no joke and if your going to do it then you should do it right. Dieting takes a lot  of thinking, your constantly thinking of foods and exercising. Your thought methods of your previous self need to change. For most people it is as simple as relearning how to be active and getting as much activity in a day in as possible. Also, there is a health risk to being over weight and for some dieting is not an option, it simply needs to be done.

So, your dieting and if your doing it right you should be learning which foods are good and which ones are bad. To most this is the second most challenging life style change in any diet. Every day life, including television, road signs, billboards and radio teaches the American Society to eat wrong. Fast food and excessive carb intake as well as fat calories are lingering in every single restaurant and good old American eatery. In order to lose your weight you must train your self to eat better and to constantly be counting calories and watching carbs. This to me was the second most challenging life style change. Eating better will be a major life style change for most, but with some good diet recipes and mixing up the menu it should be some what easy to adapt too.

The third most important life style change that I had to go through was a change in my schedule. Long gone was the days of sleeping in till eleven in the afternoon. No more lazing around on the couch for three to four hours watching television. You need a consistent routine that includes a schedule. Getting a full day of activities that keep you active is a must. Cleaning house doing laundry or getting out and walking or walking the dog or even jogging. You should adopt a routine to keep your self motivated and consistent in what you do every day. Work in some exercising routines as well. Whether you go to the gym or exercise right in front of your television, point is you still need the exercise. There is not one diet out there that can make you lose weight with out a daily routine of exercise.

The fourth biggest life style change was that all of the life style changes were permanent. You don't lose fifty or seventy five pounds just to go back to being who you were before you lost the weight. The biggest reality to dieting is that it is a life change. You worked hard to get your self lighter and healthier, why would any one go back to being comfortable with their old ways? Once you make these changes you have to commit to your self that the changes are for good. Sure you can take more risks with food and maybe skipping a workout for one day, but once you fall of track to far it will be hard to get your self back.
