The best hotel deals in Boston

Finding the best hotel deals in Boston make take a little work but there are deals to be found. How big of a deal you will be able to find will be determined by the time of year, the particular week and what is going on. It is hard to find a good hotel deal when there are event, especially when the colleges in the city are having graduation.  Rates on the weekends are usually quite a bit cheaper than rates during the week when businessmen will be filling most of the spaces. Here are some of my personal favorites when you are looking for a deal.

If you have someone who is a patient at Mass General and you want to be in a hotel close to the Hospital the Holiday Inn at Beacon Hill is the perfect choice. It is just around the corner from the hospital and yet is still close to the Common and within walking distance of Quincy Market. The rates for a city hotel are amazingly competitive and they have their own parking, which is an extra fee. There are plenty of dining choices on Beacon Hill and even a Whole Food Market.  Rates start at around $159 and go up from there.

If you would like to be on the water Boston has quite a few water front hotels, most of them are expensive but the Seaport Hotel has rates that start as low as $149 on the weekends and $189 midweek. You are right on the Harbor and not far from the South Street Rail Station. This is a business hotel  which offers lots of amenities and still allows you access to some of the more tourist friendly areas.

My favorite deal in Boston is the Kendall Hotel in Cambridge. While it is across the Charles River it is right next to the T station that can have you right smack in the center of things in just a few minutes. Rates start at less than $100 and that includes breakfast. You really can  not do better than this in Boston.

If you happen to be flying out of Logan International Airport and are looking for a hotel to stay in the night before your flight The Court Yard Marriott  Logan is the perfect choice. They offer park and fly packages that can even include dinner for a very reasonable price. The regular rates start as low as $108 and we paid $185 for the park, stay and dinner, that is hard to beat.

If you are flexible about where you stay you can always try one of the bidding sites like Priceline.com or Hotwire.com to try for a better rate. Skyauction.com often has hotels available in Boston.

If you want to spend even less consider staying in the suburbs. Woburn, Newton, Quincy and Waltham all have plenty of hotel rooms that especially on the weekends can be literally had for a song. Just because Boston is a great place to visit, don’t assume you can’t find a good deal, you just have to be persistent and you will find lots of deals on Boston hotels.
