You ask me to notice the bloom of roses in spring.
To feel the rain and soft breeze on my cheeks.
Enjoy the sweet smell of the first rain fall
Run barefoot in the soft and lustrous grass in the meadows.
How can I when the stems in my life can't hold their leaves?
When strong winds sweep the laughter from the streets?
When dark clouds scare the sun into hiding
And the skies can't help but weep?
… Illusions
You ask me to notice summer sun sets and wish on shooting stars.
To pick my colors from the rainbows in the blue skies
To dance to the beat of the tambourines in the night -
Discovering the joys and warmth of love in my lover's arms.
How can I when daily, winter chills numb my bones?
When snow covered houses leave my color palette bland?
When the rude breath feigns even friendships -
Leaving my soul empty?
Simply illusions.

Illusions
Are we but a number,
another digit in the dust.
Surround ourselves with clutter,
having possession is a must.
Striving
The shortest way is not always the best
The most laborious might be far from zest
What seems fair often brings
I feel myself fading away
Slipping farther into the unknown
Soon there will be nothing left
And I will be forever alone
When

What Big Eyes
Once upon a midnight bleary
While I stumbled drunk but cheery
I listened left and listened right
My eyes were
You ask me to notice the bloom of roses in spring.
To feel the rain and soft breeze on my cheeks.
Enjoy the sweet smell
