There are not many out there today, just a small handful, but crochet magazines are still a great source for the most recent and up-to-date crochet patterns. If so few out there you may be wondering what each of these magazines has to offer, what is it about these ones that keep crocheters buying them. You’ve been thinking about getting that subscription, (or maybe just getting another one!) Don’t know which one to get? Well, I’ve put together a quick list to help you figure out which magazines are right for you.
Crochet!: Newsstand price $5.99/issue ($6.99 Canada), average subscription cost: $20.00/year ($3.33/issue) and $32.00 Canada. 6 issues/year.
Very popular this magazine is set at a great price. Containing a mix of crocheted items the magazine focuses on bringing you never before published patterns in the latest trends with the newest and hottest yarns. Elegant is often used to describe this magazine with their focus on soft and feminine. A great magazine if you are looking for clothing and accessories, afghans and home decor patterns.

Interweave Crochet: Newsstand price $7.99 ($8.99 Canada), average subscription cost: $21.95/year ($5.49/issue) $25.95 Canada and $28.95 International. 4 issues/year.
This magazine is style. Always full of the latest trends and fashions it contains the latest news and techniques. This is the magazine you want if you desire something with a bit of an edge. While the magazine mostly focuses on fashion and accessories it does throw in an afghan or toy here and there. Also usually included is a project for a male and children’s clothing. This is a bit more costly of a magazine, but worth it.
