When it comes to weight loss I have discovered, it does take a lifestyle change to accomplish this. Not only a change to lifestyle but also how we think. Yes, that is correct how we think about weight loss. We do need to change our way of thinking in order to change our lifestyle.
First of all, make it part of your goal along with your finances and whatever else you put in your goals to accomplish for the year. Write out all the steps you need to do to lose weight. When doing this you need to think about what you are doing for activities currently and how you can change. Next, break it down by month. For example, Month March - I will lose 4 lbs. I will eat smaller portions. I will park my vehicle at the farthest point in the parking lot every day. There is a link at
www.webmd that will tell you the amount of calories you burn when doing various activities. Once you have it all laid out on paper, put it where you can see it and read it everyday..com
If you have tried in the past and have not succeeded, evaluate what worked and what didn't. Maybe it got too boring. Whatever the reason, it may be helpful to have an interactive one-on-one trainer game (such as the WII or a plug n play fitness game). Making it fun helps you want to do more. Honestly, what would you rather do something fun or boring? They can keep track of your progress or you can keep record of it yourself. If you get the whole family involved it makes it better for them as well. It is not so much as to actually exercising but more importantly being active.
The bottom line is change how you approach weight loss. If you find something that you do fun most likely you will continue doing it. Before you know it you'll lose weight and not realize it. Watching what we eat is also very important. If you can grow your own vegetables, that would be the way to go while at the same time you will be saving money on the high cost of purchasing it at the store.
