From the deep recesses of a broken life,
Searing pain scorches my heart.
Time, a persisstant thing, heals nothing,
Only does it remind me we are apart.
countless hours continue spiraling downward,
Passing by quick and slow, meshed as one.
Days carry me forward to age,
The mind stays behind, remembering days done.
Will our deepest love continue on;
On past the unstoppable ending of time?
Maybe we lose that something attached to us,
Like the grape picked from its vine.
Struggle hard, my dear lost friend,
For the dark night could not keep me away.
My soul will be my map, heart my compass,
I trust them both to never betray.
Light reflects off the broken-mirrored pieces,
Guiding my faith in finding what's lost.
Victory shall be gained and ours to share,
I care not anymore, whatever the cost.

Poetry: Lost love
by Olu Burrell
I think about you when I'm looking ahead
And also in moments of reminiscence
But do me a favor and don't ask me
To tell you
The man in the jacket, walking through snow,
His faithful friend, always in tow,
Forever smiling, happy look on his face,
Whatever
So there we were
Looking up at the sky,
Together.
Truly thought
That you and I
Could storm
Any kind of weather.
I still
Do not wait for me with bated breath,
because my heart dances to and fro.
Its chambers are hollowed and empty
it longs for
As a bird perched on the edge of its nest
eyes searching the unknown world outside
strengthening its wings, yearning to fly
