Poetry: Soul-searching

by Tanya Bainbridge

Created on: March 10, 2010

I search my soul and what do I find,

I hear words of my sub-conscious that are very unkind.

I try so hard to zone it out,

But, It holds truth that it wants to shout.

My soul search is a new start for me,

This heartless creature can no longer be.

Playing games and breaking a heart,

I deserve more make a fresh start.

So who is this person I want to be?

Kind and caring my soul wants to be free.

Free from anger, lies and hate.

I decide my own path, I decide my own fate.

I want to wake up and be in a happy place.

Not full of dread, despise or pull a hateful face.

I want the people I love the most to know how I feel

I is very important to me, a really big deal.

I don't want this anger to eat me alive,

I want courage, happiness, and drive.

To accomplish the impossible, to seize the day.

Life is too short in every way.

As my soul search comes to an end,

I am free to move on, free to mend.
