Our home should be a place that attracts good luck, prosperity, harmony and peace. By using the feng shui principles we could live in harmony with our environment, be happier and healthier. Of course each and every room of our house has its own importance and we should decorate it accordingly. This article focuses on feng shui tips for the bathroom.

POSITION OF BATHROOM

First of all when building, buying or renting a house or apartment we should see that the bathroom is not visible from the main entrance because the chi will be drained away before it even circulates in the home. Also it should not face the bedroom and it certainly should not be placed in the center of our home because then it will send negative chi to every side of the home. Another “bad” position of the bathroom is near the kitchen. If something of the above can not change, then we could place a mirror that will cover all the external side of the bathroom door as well as two mirrors inside the bathroom, one facing the other. And of course we should always keep the bathroom door closed.

POSITION OF TOILET

The toilet should be in a position so that not to be directly visible to the one that will enter the bathroom. If it is visible we could place a folding screen between the toilet and the door. Also the toilet seat should be always kept down after any use because the toilet is believed to produce negative chi.

MIRRORS IN THE BATHROOM

Mirrors are an important object for feng shui. Regarding the bathroom mirror, it is the one that we look ourselves in before we start our day so it should not make it difficult for us to reflect in it. If so, then we are going to face difficulties also during the day. So the bathroom mirror should be big with lighting that does not reflect shadows which distort our characteristics and show us pale giving the impression that we are sick. The bathroom mirror should create us the feeling of confidence and the feeling that we would like to use this specific mirror with great joy each and every day. If we can not place a big mirror over the wash-basin due to lack of space, then we could place there a smaller mirror and look for another spot in our bathroom in order to place the big one.

COLORS

Regarding the colors of our bathroom we should avoid all the dark colors like dark blue, purple, forest green and grey metallic. We could use white which is ideal for the bathroom as it symbolizes purity and cleanliness. Concerning the color of the decorating objects of our bathroom we could use orange color, light yellow or other warm colors which are highly recommended because they add warmth in the bathroom environment.

OTHER GENERAL FENG SHUI TIPS FOR THE BATHROOM

*Our bathroom should be aired on a daily basis and should be kept very clean.

*A faucet or a pipe that is dripping should be fixed the soonest possible because they represent money that is lost.

*Also the bathroom door should open inwards not outwards.

*In order to enable the symbolism of growth we could place a plant in our bathroom which will also stabilize the amount of water leaving the bathroom.

Using feng shui tips in our home and especially in our bathroom can make us feel more comfortable and healthier and if we ready some tips we could manage harmony. Nevertheless it could be a good idea to ask the advice of a feng shui specialist.
