Poetry: Lost love

by Jodie Murphy

Created on: March 09, 2010

hates gone today

for the first time i woke today and i dont hate you

i know thats crazy

because i spend years saying i love and miss you

in the back of my mind

since the day you left

ive resented and often used the word hate

had a anger built up

blamed you for leaving us

only coz i love you

but today i looked at a song i wrote for you

i took out a line that i wrote long ago

because the word hate doesnt belong

is this closure

is this the healer

does this mean ive accepted at last

mixed feelings now

confused myself alot

i smile at your memory

and i dont feel angry

the sadness is still there

pain i still cant bear

love , emptyness and questions

but hates gone today

maybe it returns tomorrow

i'll have to let you know

maybe im still blinded by sorrow

you left so long ago

i think of you in heaven

watching over me

i wonder

i let my mind drift away

relieved for once that the hates gone today
