When I think of Spring Break, I think of the time my in-laws, my husband, and I all went on a vacation together. It's wasn't the traditional Spring Break time but it was very enjoyable to say the least. We flew down to Florida, went to Sea World, and spent a lot of time at Disney World.
It was my senior year in college and celebrating my last semester in college. It was definitely a big celebration, but it was also a tribute to my husband's grandmother who had just passed away. We took the trip to also celebrate her life!
We celebrated with much gusto! We found the Mexico Pavilion at Epicot Center, and drank/ate the richness of Mexico's culinary delights! We also went to the German Pavilion, and drank the dark beers that only a good German could enjoy! After all, we had the heritage because we all had the German ancestors.
Watching many dolphins and whales who displayed their tricks and harmoniously swimming with their trainers. One of the funniest parts of our visit was when we went to Sea World. The theater where we watched the many whales spin around, and splash the audience was a great thing to watch. They even had signs if you weren't too thrilled with the idea of a splashing whale that you didn't have to sit there. You would be amazed at the people that still sat there, and were mad because they were splashed. The whales splashed with such enthusiasm, and vigor! The belly flop was huge, and water spurted out everywhere.
Disney World had much more to celebrate with the lighted parades, the celebration of Mickey Mouse's birthday, and the many numerous rides. Yes, the rides! I am fearful of high roller coasters, and I am not much of a fan! But I went along with the crowd a little better than the splash lane at Sea World. Yes, it was a thrill, and a rush to go down the roller coaster! It was certainly an adventure for my in-laws to see me do something so not like me! It was high, and I thought my stomach was going to exchange itself for something not returnable but I made it to the top! The top was so high I could see everything, and I mean everything! The speed was enormous, and I screamed but nothing came out for some reason! We got off that ride, and I felt like kissing the ground! The Tea Cups were very close to the ground, and I felt grounded again!
We relaxed, and took in the sights! We drank a few beers, and never made it to the beaches like my single friends had gone to. We had some very fun times checking out the sights in Orlando! We celebrated my last year of college, and celebrated a life of a person who too knew how to celebrate life! Perhaps, she didn't go to college but enjoyed her family! It was a memory of her taking my sister-in-law, and my husband to Disneyland while they were children that they talked about during that trip! It was also a wonderful time to reflect the last 4 years of college for me, and make a splash into the world as a college graduate. Sink or swim I was going in the real world to find my treasure for life.
But it was the treasure of family, and hope for the future that was my anchor!
