If you are hosting a website or a blog, you may be wondering what the best ways are to boost your Google AdSense revenue. Since Google AdSense offers free registration, it is an easy to use option for increasing income. These five steps will help you boost your Google AdSense revenue.

1. Content

The first thing to remember is that AdSense uses your content for proper monetization. Using their own algorithm, Google analyzes the content of your page. Google then relates that information and generates a set of keywords to display the proper ads. The more content you have, the more opportunity you have to display relevant ads.  Although content is wonderful, picking the right content is also a critical factor. Some of the higher-paying Google ads are displayed about things that people might buy especially health products.  Another way that Google places relevant ads is based on "problem solving" for example financial problems.  Google offers you a number of

testing features to find out what works best and drives readers to your site.

2. Traffic

Of course there is no doubt that regardless of how good your content is if no one is reading it, you can't make any money from it. No visitors means no clicks on your ads. One way to increase your earnings, is to spend time working on traffic generation. You can also write content that is sometimes defined as "link bait". You can also develop content around keywords to generate traffic.  Remember, the higher your site is ranked, the more likely you are to have visitors who may be interested in clicking on ads. Use Twitter and other social bookmarking sites to spread the word about your site and to get even more traffic.

3. Ad placement

Another method for ensuring that your ads are earning money, can often be found in the placement of those ads. It is far more likely that somebody will read and add that is placed in a blog post, or near the top of a web page then they will if it is near the footer of a web page.  Make sure that when you create your AdSense ads, that you do so in a way that allows them to blend in with the overall theme of your website or blog.

4.  Promotion

Your AdSense will likely do better if you are actively promoting your blog or website. Social bookmarking sites that include "do follow" links include Blink List, Mr. Wong, Back Flip, Ask.com, Jump Tags, and A-1 Webmarks.  This means that if you can post individual links to selected posts, or to your site they will get more attention than if you used "non-follow" sites such as Google bookmarks, Digg, and Reditt.  The more "follow" links that are available back to your site, the more likely your site is to rank high in search engines.

5.  Monitor and review

Your AdSense ads cannot just be placed on your site while you sit back hoping for visitors. Once your ads are on the site and you have gained traffic, you should carefully review the performance of each ad. You may find that you need to change keywords, change ad placement, or head in a new direction. Sometimes it is simple things such as changing the color of your ads.  You may also want to set up a Google Analytics account to test traffic.

Today, all blog owners and website owners have the opportunity to monetize with Google's AdSense if their accounts meet the requirements set out by Google. AdSense offers great opportunity for bloggers and webmasters to make money on something they are going to do anyway. Understanding these 5 steps can help boost your AdSense revenue.  Use these as part of an overall marketing strategy can be beneficial.
