The reason for the very-recent historical rise in school violence are numerous, quite predictable, and not without clearly definable cause! All voices, to the contrary, fully included. After all, children [like us] are people… and we forget this “Truth,” at our very own societal expense or peril.
As people [our children], have far more in common with us than many would have you more fully believe! In fact, their minds are mere microcosms of our own. Inside, each one of us, lies that inner-child we once truly were; and [more frequently] still long to be. Say it isn’t so… I, honestly, dare you?
For over two hundred years, in America, we’ve had fights on our playgrounds and the occasional rock thrown. But, until the last thirty, nary a gun or a knife! What’s, really, so different today? We are!
If it were [merely] a matter of having access to weapons, then our schools would have been awash in blood long ago! Certainly, in the past, access to them was far easier, by far! Virtually everyone, in our society, had some… and, most of them, far more than a few. Guns and rifles were used for hunting and protection. They possessed knives for cutting and cleaning their kill. How many of them were even rich enough to purchase a gun cabinet? No, access to weapons isn’t the answer!
Nor, can it be lain solely on the feet of their youthful indiscretions while naturally attempting to get along. For, every schoolyard has had tyrants and bullies galore! Abusers and manipulators are found everywhere humans set foot. This is a, mere, fact of life!
Is it then, the pressures of obtaining a modern education? We hardly even [honestly] expect them to read! Rather, than to fully teach them a true and highly necessary core curricula, we provide culturally acceptable political propaganda and offer them four hours of dismally employment-related shop.
However, let’s consider some interesting and more-likely accurate possibilities. Even if, it might offend many of us to [so blatantly] hear it. Our children [like many of us] lack real discipline, honor, and respect; and they have failed to obtain it: in their homes, their churches, and schools! Meanwhile, it is their parents who are honestly to blame for all three.
Not only, won't they discipline their children at home, but they'll sue the school they'll honestly dare to try! They coddle and spoil these same children and side with them against the principals and teachers that were
