Poetry: Spring sunshine

Until Spring

The trees shiver in their nudity

Leaves scattered far and near

They stand silently hoping

That Spring will soon be here

Winter's unmerciful, cold breath

Slices deep down to the bone

Obscured is the sunlight

Gloom won't leave me alone

The aura is so depressing

Abysmally colored grey

Muck covered snow bits still linger

Not wanting to melt away

That is.... Until Spring

Ahh...when the daffodils bloom

See clear  blue skies above

Where  billowing clouds loom

How lovely the days grow

Temperate and mild

Watch the greenery return

So artfully styled

And the sunshine, oh that sunshine

What a soothing embrace

It wraps me in it's arms

Laying  warmth on my face

 A radiance and beauty

That's certainly divine

Nothing, no, nothing can compare

To that glorious sunshine

So I wait, so longingly

For what it will bring

Desperate for the sunshine

I won't find until Spring
