E-learning is one of the great advantages of today’s world. Online learning has given flexibility to learners. They can learn anywhere at anytime. Also, it has given them the chance to learn two things at the same time. First, they learn the courses. Second, they learn Information Technology (IT) skills.
Many websites were established to address the growing need for free online courses. Some of them charge the learners while others offer course for free. This does not mean that the free ones offer low quality courses. There are actually some e-learning websites that dispense the learner with high quality materials. Here are some of them:
To the best of my knowledge, this is the most interesting e-learning website on the Internet. Publishers put their learning materials on Alison and they share the Ads revenue. Microsoft, Advanced Learning and Health and Safety Authority (HSA) share their e-learning courses with Alison. The quality is stunning and the courses are really easy and interactive.
The best thing about the courses is that learners do not have to read. They just watch and listen in most courses. Another good thing about Alison is that learner will have to take tests after each course in order to get Alison Certificate. They offer the certificates for free. The certificate will help learners prove that they have taken the course.
This is another good website that offers free online courses with certificates of accomplishment. There are many course categories like business, personal development, information skills, consumer issues, writing guides, etc. Once you choose a course, you will see how many sections it has. For example, if it has five lessons, you will receive one lesson everyday until you finish the course. After that, they send you a certificate of accomplishment. You won’t have to take any tests.
This website offers some good courses that will help learners and their countries in the process. The USIP won The United States Distance Learning Association (USDLA) "Best Practices Silver Award" for 2009. So it is a great place for online learning especially for those who want to help in peacemaking.
A huge collection of computer tutorials and courses on different applications can be found on this website. You do not have to
