The Guide to Perfectly Straight Healthy Hair
Having curly hair is a blessing! For those of you, who have been unsuccessful in the past at trying to achieve that perfectly straight polished look of the stars, please listen up! I am about to transform your ideas on curly hair and enable you to fluidly cross the line to pin straight hair and beyond. I’m half Hispanic and half Fench-Arabic so I have not only the curly, wavy hair, but the thickness and length to battle with on a daily basis. What I’m about to teach you will cut down on style time, allow for a flawless look and enable you to create countless hairdos successfully. First you have to figure out what kind of hair you have. It is a good idea to rate your hair by the most unhealthy part, for most women that would be the ends. One must ask themselves if the hair is dry, damaged, permed, color treated ect. Once that is established you can begin to work the magic.
Shampooing hair is the first step to preparing for your masterpiece. Select the shampoo that is right for your needs. For example: Dry Damaged hair pairs well with a Re-Constructive shampoo or a moisturizing shampoo depending on your roots. If you tend to have greasy roots I would not recommend putting moisturizing shampoo on the head, as it will weigh hair down and shorten the life of your style. Try a clarifying shampoo on the roots and just let the excess shampoo rise through the dry ends rather than lather them up. As a rule of thumb, choose shampoo according to your roots and you will never go wrong. It is also important to remember that your shampoo and conditioner do not need to match. Most companies sell “matching sets” of shampoo and conditioner to get the consumer to purchase more of their product, and that is fine, but you have to customize your shampoo and conditioner to fit your hair needs. Once you have selected the best fit for your shampooing needs, it’s time to pick the right conditioner. Please keep in mind that when selecting a conditioner you take into consideration the ends of your hair. As with selecting the shampoo, evaluate your ends and purchase your conditioner accordingly. With conditioner it is important to use the opposite rule of shampoo, work your conditioner into the ends first and work your way up to the scalp. This method concentrates the moisture on the hair furthest away from the natural oils, balancing out the moisture in each strand of hair. Now that your hair is cleansed properly
