You can tell if your kid is doing drugs by taking these steps. I wont go into what to do after you've found out, but this is the info I can give you to find out.

1. Shows up late to events that they would normally be on time for.
A teen thats high doesnt want their parents to find out. If they are high, they will seclude themselves from you until they think its not noticable. This can range from, being late to and from school. Last minute calls i.e."Kevin is taking forever at the mall im gonna be late" Its innocent but when you have that feeling that your kid is into drugs 9/10 times your gonna be right. Not showing up on time for holidays, or family events. Dodging time spent with parents or siblings.

2. Paraphenilia, is the biggest Red Flag in determining drug use.
As soon as your teen walks through the door ask them to empty all their pockets. A more discreet way to do this is during laundry go through the clothes and smell them. If you shop around the internet for drug fact sites you'll get a descrption of the smells, sight, and different uses of drugs. Look out for these items: Baggies from pill sized to sandwich bag. Metal Clips, broken antennas, glass tubes, steel wool, mirrors, razor blades, playing cards with used up edges, folded up money used to transport powdered drugs, sudden interest in plumbing, water stills, a higher electric bill could be a sign of drug production in your home. rolling papers, lighters, pipes. Crushed soda cans with holes on one side, used to smoke drugs when there is no pipe available.

3. Individual awareness, is your best tool.
If your teen is smoking Pot, smell his fingers, see how yellow or tinged they are compared to the other digits on his/her hand. If they are doing cocaine sniffing/smoking monitor their heart and notice they arent breathing heavily yet their heart is going like a marathon. Look for slurring of words. I dont mean to say your kids gonna talk like a record playing on a slow speed. It will be every other word, or in some people the inability to control their mouth movements. Constantly grinding or biting, due to the numbness. Checking their nose fequently. For hullucinogens(SHrooms,acid, PCP) Look for pupil dialation even in bright rooms the pupil will not contract as it does when under the influence. I dont like the idea of looking for bloodshot eyes. It can be masked with easy explanations like"Something got in my eye"or "Yea I think my allergies are acting up".
