“Kids these days” can often be heard echoing from the mouths of the older generations. From parents to grandparents, we can’t help letting these words slip out of our mouths when we hear and see kids doing things that can make anyone speechless. The antics of our childhoods are so innocent compared to the “kids these days.” We were much more tame and weren’t nearly as prone to violence. Sure, there was the occasional fist fight, but for the most part, everyone was friends by the time the last school bell rang. That just isn’t the case anymore.
“Kids these days” are doing things far beyond the fist fighting of yesterday. They are taking guns to school. Worse yet, they are using those guns to kill their peers. “Kids these days” are destroying themselves with drugs like Heroin and other highly addictive drugs. That isn’t to say these drugs haven’t always been out there. They are much more prevalent today than they ever were before though. These drugs are leading “kids these days” to jail and commit horrible crimes to get money to do the drugs. Those crimes aren’t limited to strangers either. They reach much higher heights than that. They are robbing their own families blind.
Kids these days don’t seem to want to work for what they get. They have been so spoiled throughout their lives that they have no idea what work means or why they should bother to do it. That isn’t to say that there aren’t good kids out there. There are a lot of really awesome kids out there. It is sad that the good kids don’t get to shine the way they should because of everything that is going on around them.
The children of today are the future of the nation. They have either been taught to misbehave in appalling manners because they have been mistreated themselves or they haven’t been taught how to behave in the proper manner because they are so spoiled. There are very few that get out without some scarring. Kids these days sometimes don’t stand a chance against the world. There are just too many things to worry about.
A young girl or boy of yesterday was looked at poorly if they had sex before a certain age. In fact, at one time, if you had sex before you were married, you could be certain you would get a very bad name attached to your reputation. Today’s kids think of sex as a game. They, for some reason believe it has to be done or you get a reputation for not doing it. It is hard to believe that kids these days wouldn’t care one bit about maintaining some privacy and decency about sex lives. Kids as young as ten and eleven years old are losing their virginity, on purpose. Yes, it is shocking to say the least. Kids these days need to learn that eventually that will all catch up with them. They will have to look back on it when they are older and chances are, they will feel a great deal of shame for what they have done.
Kids these days have a lot of potential. Many of them don’t use that potential the way they should. Many of them throw their entire lives away for a night of fun. It is a shame to see the kids today ruining what could have been an amazing life. What is it all for? I don’t get it.
