The young female seagull looked upwards towards the bright sunshine as its brilliant rays showered the earth from above.

She was always asking questions and looking for answers.... there was no satisfaction with answers ending in 'maybe'  or 'perhaps'.. she was tired of the stalling and the differing of her questions to other topics in the hope that she would give up with her incessant curiosity and just do like the others and be satisfied with the way things were, as they had always been.

No, not this time. Now it was time for her to do something... something no one had dared to do or try...  as some of her friends looked on she began to run at the same time spreading her wings open and allowing the gentle breeze to lift beneath her feathers as she started to take flight.  Up, up and onwards she soared higher and higher into the all embracing sky.  Their cries dimmed beneath her as she continued her new journey. Yes she was nervous but her strength of determination was the stronger, she no longer wished to remain uncertain in her thoughts, this is what she knew she had to do to prove not only to herself but to the others as well.

Suddenly she cried out at the wondrous sight set all around her.... the sky, that great canopy of blue just seemed to stretch endlessly... the lands below her spread for miles and miles as far as her eyes could see, and the great ocean with the silver sunlit strands across its mighty body glistened beneath a sunlit sky.  "oh its beautiful, never in a million years could I have dared to think that this is what I would eventually get to see".  " I fee so free...." and such she spread her wings as far open as she could, embracing the strength of the wind so high up to carry her along whilst at the same time taking in all the wonders of a new world now beginning to stretch out in front of her. 

The young seagull had finally broken that gripping fear of uncertainty with what lay beyond the stretch of land either side of her and of the ocean in front.  Because no one else had ever dared to try and find out,  that meant no one could possibly say what was out there... it took someone like our friend the seagull to be the first to try.  From that first flight others dared to also follow her... they flew higher than any of the other older seagulls had ever dared, and for this they were rewarded with an open optimism and new dreams and adventures set out before them.  Anything seemed possible now...

No more barriers... no more limitations... it is for the individual to set their own personal limitations... for to get on in life we cannot always be going around in uncertainty.  We have to find out the facts what ever way we can.. and work on those answers to better ourselves in life.  If it means going that little bit further to get where we wish to be or to what we wish to achieve then we have to be brave and take those first few steps... they of course will gradually lead us to where we want to go if we stay on the same path and not let anyone deter us from it.

If we remain uncertain then we will never get any where or achieve anything in our lives. So make a decision then stick to it and go out and get the life you want. Its never too late to try!
