Using pesticides are always a tricky situation.  You can't let pests destroy your plants, but it's very difficult to find a pesticide that won't harm your plants, or even you.  So often you are forced to balance the dangers of chemical pesticides with eliminating your pest problem.

The Safer brand gives consumers a line of products that takes away the responsibility of having to balance dangerous pesticides with protecting your home and garden.  

The Safer Caterpillar Killer product utilizes BT, Bacillus Thuringiensis, an organic biological bacteria that combats caterpillars and similar pests, like tent worms, gypsy moths, and tomato hornworms.  The bacteria, BT, kills the pest naturally itself, without any chemicals used in the process.  Essentially, after consuming part of this product, the pest will stop eating and die within a few days.

The bacteria also has no affect on bees.  This may seem trivial, but every gardener knows the extremely important role bees play in your garden: pollination.  Other chemical pesticides can damage bee populations within your area, because chemicals affect everything in the area that comes into contact with it.  But the BT bacteria has no interest in bees, and therefore is another major advantage of choosing Safer Caterpillar Killer over other chemical pesticides.

Also, because it is very biodegradable and safe, it must be reapplied every few days until your caterpillar problem has finally been eliminated.  Though this may seem time consuming, it is truly a small price to pay for an effective product that is completely safe and environmentally friendly.    

Safer Caterpillar Killer can be used anywhere in your yard or garden that you need it.  It can be used on trees and bushes in your yard, or on your fruits and vegetables in your garden, wherever you are experience a blight of caterpillars or other pests.  It simply needs to be applied to the affected areas, where the caterpillars are on your plants, as it works when they consume the product.
