Advantages of the Internet

In this day and age the uses of the internet are limitless, its uses range from the personal to the global market, and its uses will continue to grow as long as technology and science exist.

First I will focus on emailing; this method is affordable, reliable and fast. An individual can instantly send or receive a message by emailing. By emailing, we also cut out the tradition letter writing and the usage of material such as paper, ink and pens. Traditional letter writing also took a great deal of time to reach the addressee in addition to receive a response from such.

Another use of the internet is the gathering of information. One can now access books, historic images and a mass of other information by the click of a button. One can find a variety of material needed for lecturing, studying, writing speeches or office presentations within the comforts of their homes. It also allows people to share information with others.

In this fast moving economy the internet has also made several processes possible such as, online shopping and online learning. Online shopping opens a better range of selection for shoppers. It is also not limited to a single store thus, it open to better variety and lower prices. With online shopping one would not have to leave their home to buy and send a gift.

Online learning has been a great way for people from all walks of life to earn a degree; it is accessible, suitable and affordable. It is easy for one to be learning even with a busy schedule.

The internet can also be an avenue where people can earn money. There is internet marketing and other methods of earning money via the internet and this would be very useful for certain people such as ‘stay home moms’.

The internet is also used for online chatting, both for personal reasons and job purposes. People can meet others from different countries and different backgrounds thus learning about different cultures and lifestyle. Online chatting also also allows people to stay in contact with family and friends.

The internet also provides the most current news from all around the world, thus one can be updated in worldwide events and happenings

The internet open a whole host of possibilities and uses and others not mentioned above include advertising, entertainment, internet banking, downloads, job searches and online advice. The internet will continue to open countless possibilities for human, so in order to allow such to work to our advantage we should ensure that we do not misuse the internet. Things that should be avoided to prevent misuse of the internet include creating viruses, viewing pornography, copywriting and stalking. If we avoid the above mentioned activities and others surely the internet will continue to open options to us in the future.
