Remote viewing is a perceptual discipline' for gaining information not available to the ordinary physical senses. It's different than Astral Projection in that remote viewers do not experience the physical sensation of leaving their bodies, but rather import visual information directly into their consciousness.
Used extensively by so-called "psychic spies" during the Cold War for classified military projects, it has a long history both as an intelligence gathering tool and as the subject of research in the civilian world. Remote viewing has now taken a long step forward in the public domain with the formation of a professional association. The IRVA, International Remote Viewing Association proposes standards, tests performance, and promotes the peaceful use of this mental practice all over the world. The four men in the picture above are key members.
Russell Targ, on the left of the photo, is also an editor, publisher, songwriter, producer, a teacher, and more. Targ retired from Lockheed Martin as a senior staff scientist, where he developed laser technology.
Targ helped discover cognitive sciences and was funded by the Reagan Administration in the early nineteen eighties. For over 20 years, the Cognitive Sciences Laboratory has been the center for government-sponsored parapsychology research in support of its intelligence program most recently known as STAR GATE. Its here Alex Martinez starts his quest to master the art of remote viewing.
This activity threatens the precision and tidiness of traditional scientific methodology.
