“5000 gold to learn that skill? Where am I going to come up with THAT kind of money?!?”

At some point while playing World of Warcraft you might find your self saying something like that. The amount might not be as high, but you will feel the everyday expenses of your characters putting a huge strain your saved gold. But, there is no need to fret! Anyone can make fast amounts of gold on Wow and here’s how:

Auctions.

There are lots of folks that want to get their hands on certain items ranging from hard to find drops in instances to crafting materials. While those two are rather obvious, there are some other odd things that you can make lots of money from that doesn’t require being at maximum level. During certain holiday events like Winter Veil, there are quests that require cooking and one of the ingredients is Small Egg that only drops off of mobs from level 5-15. Most high-level characters don’t want to waste their time farming them, so they’ll happily shell out 10-20 gold for a stack of twenty. That can add up fast for a low level characters. By the time my Night Elf Hunter hit level eleven, she had amassed over a thousand gold, formed a guild, and had a two-tab guild bank – strictly from the sale of Small Eggs.

Farming crafting materials

Trying to get materials to raise your crafting professions can be a bit tedious – especially, for any professions that require minerals (blacksmithing, engineering, gemcutting), or herbs (alchemy, inscription). Check the Auction House to see which of these materials are in high demand and getting the best prices and then go to any area where they’re likely to spawn – also, make sure you’re high enough level to deal with any mobs in the area that might get in the way. A couple of hours of farming can get you enough to put a few stacks on the Auction House. Then, you can just sit back and watch the gold roll in. A word of caution: try not to put up more than five stacks at a time, and never try to undercut the best price by more than 10%. This will maximize your profits without flooding the market.

Selling crafted materials

If you’ve taken the time to build up your gathering profession, you probably have a crafting profession to go with it. Along the way, you’ll probably have to craft a lot of things that you’ll never use. You can easily check the Auction House to see if anyone else is selling them and put up a comparable price.
