Featuring affordable pricing, innovative design, and ease of use, the Ipod touch applications are one of the featured reasons that the Ipod touch has flourished. There are so many different applications, varying in price and type. As boasted in their commercials, there is an app for virtually anything. 

There are a handful of different categories: Games, Entertainment, Utilities, Social Networking, Music, Productivity, Lifestyle, Reference, Travel, Sports, Navigation, Healthcare & Fitness, News, Photography, Finance, Business, Education, Weather, Books, and Medical. Since there are so many applications, it is very difficult to decipher which are the top. However, there are a select number of applications that have flourished from month to month. 

1) Facebook: With the growing popularity of Facebook, it is very convenient to be able to update your profile, view your friends' proflies, and perform all the tasks that you perform on Facebook on the palm of your hand. Over the time, the Facebook app has been one of the largest hits, mainly because it is free and offers convenience.

2) Call of Duty: World at War Zombies: Another growing phenomenon, Call of Duty, came out with a very intriguing and visceral application. Zombies, although it is a paid app, has been so successful because Call of Duty has been such a hit, and because the gameplay is addicting.

3) Monopoly: The ability to play a favorite board game on the palm of your hand has intrigued many application purchasers. With different animation and angles in game play, you are truly immersed in Monopoly when you play the application. It has been a large success because it is a classic game on a modern platform.

4) Text Plus: There are many different applications for the Ipod touch that offer texting for free. Many of them work very well, and Text Plus is one of them that has been a large success. The only downside, as with many other applications, is you need internet access in order to text. However, since it is free, it has been a very useful app.

5) Mad Libs: Although Mad Libs hasn't been an overly popular app, it is growing because consumers are understanding what a unique application it is. You are able to create hilarious stories with family and friends, and you can play the same stories over and over. There is also a free trial that allows you to get a taste of the full version.

Overall, there are many stellar Ipod touch applications. However, only a handful of them stand radiantly apart from the rest. With new applications constantly coming out, there will be new hits that overtake the previous ones. The applications are what makes the Ipod touch a progressive and diverse devise.
