We all know we want it to end. We all agree to support the troops and get them back home. So, are the elected officials that we put in office listening or acting on what the people want? How much longer until the politicians give the OK for our troops to come home? If the American public has been voicing in every way possible(Video, music, voice, e-mail, art) that we want our troops to come home; then why are we still there? Has the president and the cabinet gotten us into a situation that we will never be able to get out of.
The instability of the region is nothing new to the world. Everyone knows that the Middle East is plagued with conflicts. They have most of the oil in the world there. Something that every nation needs and wants a piece of. The Mid-East is practically the cradle of life where human development met its many advances into becoming the dominant being. Babylon and many other historical places are being fought over. All this before America stepped into Iraq. I believe the US is trying their hardest to maintain their control of the region. I believe that since before 1960's the US has had a subtle hand, directly affecting political power in the region. How do you think Saddam became the dictator in Iraq? We, the US put him there decades ago. We have hand picked dictators and princes and political officials to carry out our agenda in the Middle East. Is it no surprise that they hate us? Its not the way we live they hate. Its not our wasteful habits and ungodly behavior that makes them hate America. Its the fact that America is responsible for more than its fair share of conflicts in the region. We have tried to be on the right side, but what happens when you choose to back the wrong people and have invested a lot. Do you pull out clean and dry? I believe the US is at a loss for its next step in establishing its control again in the Middle East. If these politicians are so qualified for the job they are doing, how come they aren't fulfilling the number one priority on their mission statement? TO SERVE THE PEOPLE.
