Did you ever wonder if your friends were true friends or if they were fair-weather friends? It probably isn’t a good idea to try to test your friends to discover whether they are true or not. There are ways to discover who your real friends are though. You usually know in your heart who your real friends are. However, the chips are down, that is when you will know for sure.

Here are the only real ways to discover if your friends are true friends:

Get Sick

One of the most evident times that helps you discover if your friend is a real friend is when you get sick. Get an illness that takes a long time to heal from and see how long your friend stay around. See if that friend will be there to help you in your worst times. Not every “friend” will stick around. Only the true blue friends will still be there when you get well. If you have a friend that sticks with you through it all and helps you in your time of need, don’t ever let them go.

Get Divorced

When a couple breaks up, whether you are married or not, you find out who your real friends are. True friends won’t choose sides. They will be there for you. All too often, friends that are mutual as a couple suddenly become the friend of only one after the split. It doesn’t really matter who was the one in the wrong. True friends should never drop out on you because you have split from your other half. True friends will have the  strength to stand up and say they are going to be friends with who they want to be.

Run Out of Cash

One of the fastest ways to see who your true friends are is to run out of money. Go broke and see how long your friends stick around. This is especially true if you are the one that usually pays for everything. People don’t do it on purpose, all the time that is. However, people do hang around with others for the bonus of the money that they don’t have to spend. These are the worst kind of people that you have to worry about.

Ask For a Loan

If you want to discover really fast who your true friends are, ask them for a loan. People don’t like to part with their money. They would just as soon end the relationship than to have to answer you about borrowing money. They may be afraid they won’t get it back. They may just not want to part with their cash. They just may be too afraid to say “no” to you. Whatever the case, you will discover who your true friends are if you ask to borrow money.

These are the best ways to discover is a friend is a true friend. Either seem needy or provide a need for them and take it away. They will let you know really fast if they were a true blue friend or not. It pays to keep a few close friends instead of having a lot of friends. The more “friends” that you have the more discovery you will have to make.
