Daily habits to ensure a healthy life

The human body is a marvelous machine like no other on the face of this planet. How you maintain your body will make a significant difference to your life. Life indeed is what we make of it and it is our daily habits that makes us *tick* and help us ensure a healthy life.  


But how can you ensure a healthy life? Well, the surest path to maintaining good health is to usher a “sense of balance” in your life. This means nurturing your “inner” life to keep your life in balance and experiencing a lifetime of good health and happiness.


Although there's no magic formula to ensure that your life will be consistently “balanced” each day, you can find a BIG difference even in today’s fast- paced, high-stress lives. You can do so effectively by learning to focus on your daily habits with a fresh perspective.


Practice the following 10 habits daily to ensure a healthy life:


 1. Be Mindful. Begin each day with a moment of mindfulness to attain a state of inner peace of mind. Make a conscious effort to recognize your own innate power within, practice visualizing what is positive and try to steer your way out of life's chaos and complexities.


2. State an Affirmation. Make it a habit to say an inspiring affirmation daily like "Everything is going to be just fine." Affirmations will lead you to believe and anchor in your sense of worth, purpose and fulfillment.


3. Drink plenty of water. Water is the most therapeutic natural resource. Every system in our body needs water. Drink two glasses of water on waking up and as often as you can to keep dehydration at bay.


4. Breathe Deeply. The secret lies in breathing as often as possible- especially taking deep, meaningful breaths from the belly. This nourishes the brain and other vital organs with oxygen and helps eliminate toxins from our system.


5. Eat Healthy. This is one of the most powerful ways for keeping your bodily and mental health in optimal condition. Your daily intake of balanced meals should include foods rich in fiber, whole grains, vegetables, fruits and low fat dairy products.


6. Incorporate Physical Activity. Physical activity like brisk walking, as a regular part of your daily routine, can activate your brain cells to think clearly, raise your energy level and reduce stress.


7. Take Power-Naps. Research indicates that mid-day sleep or a "power-nap" for 15 to 20 minutes has special additional benefits. Taking power-naps daily helps to restore energy and alertness.


8. Take time to love. Hugs, loving words and random acts of kindness permeate positive energy, warmth, comfort and joy into our lives and those around us.


9. Listen to Music. Music is the food for the soul. Listen to soft music that gently caresses your very being; feel it and possess it- as it strikes a tender chord to soothe your mind, body and spirit.


10. Be Thankful. Be thankful for all the wonderful things bestowed on you. Learn to count your blessings and let go off countless petty annoyances that may tend to throw you off-balance.

The key is to habitually follow the above guidelines that you believe is relevant to your particular lifestyle. On doing so, you will soon discover that these daily habits can positively ensure you and your family a lifetime of health.
