There are no relationships that are a waste of time. Some may feel as if they are though, if you don't recognise the four key reasons why people come into our lives.
# Key Reason One; To help You Through A Difficult Time
Sometimes, as if by magic, you may find yourself in a relationship with a person who understands exactly what you are going through. Perhaps they have found themselves in a similar situation in the past, or, they simply have the ability to help you cope far better than you would have done alone.
Relationships with people who help us in this way, or in which we help them, are often transient. When the difficult patch or problem has passed, the relationship drifts away, or alters to become less close and personal. Being able to recognise the reason for such a relationship, can help you to move on, and look back thankfully for the care and support you had, or gave, when it was needed.
# Key Reason Two: To Help You Learn
The most turbulent, and difficult relationships you go through, are likely to be those from which you gain the most experience with which to carry in to new relationships.
At other times, learning relationships can be a more gentle affair, where two people come together and swap life learning, and integrate each others knowledge in to their own psyche.
# Key Reason Three: To Introduce You To A New Path
Sometimes you may be introduced to new ways of living, thinking or behaving, by people you have relationships with. The relationships may eventually end, but you will have been inspired in some way, to alter your life direction, or consider changes you would never have thought about previously.
# Key Reason Four: Companionship
Relationships may be formed at a time when you, and the other person, are in need of mutual companionship. If you need comfort, friendship and love, you may find yourself in a relationship where you are able to fulfil this need. Typically, such relationships are well balanced, and both parties need each other. They know the other person isn't, the one, but they gain solace in the companionship offered.
Once you understand the four key reasons why people come in to our lives, you can better understand your relationships, and accept them for what they are. Understanding these reasons, can also help you to feel less bitter after a break up, and more thankful when you realise the positive gifts you have received, or given, as a result of taking part.
