Pain and Passing
Pain
Internal, external
All of some sort.
Constant aggravation
Discomfort
Interludes of agony.
Slowly
The feelings begin to ebb
And lessen at intervals.
A mighty fire
Slips toward darkness
And is extinguished.
Forward! Know this:
Nothing in the ashes
Will ever encourage
Your success, nor strengthen
Your hand to sweep and
Glean glory!
