Stay at home moms get to see all of the wonderful things that make motherhood so grand. They see their children grow, learn, develop, and above all else, love. The only problem is that a child’s love does not pay the bills. Thankfully, these home based businesses for stay at home moms will make it possible to read children the “Three Little Pigs” and leave time to bring home the bacon.
Online Positions
As technology advances and the economy bounces up and down, the demand for at-home business positions is at an all-time high. Why? First, companies do not have to pay for office space, paid lunch breaks, and office materials. Second, companies can pay by the project rather than by the hour. For stay at home moms, that works out wonderfully because each project can usually be squeezed in whenever time allows.
Jobs that fall into this category: Data entry, virtual assistance, freelance writing, graphic design, online tutoring, bookkeeping, etc.
Direct Sales
For stay at home moms who want to mingle with other grownups a few hours a week and do the rest of the work at home, direct sales may be the best way to go. Direct sales offer women the chance to potentially make a lot of money, win a lot of prizes, make a lot of friends, and have a lot of fun. The best part is that direct sales positions never require saleswomen to leave the house for more than three hours at a time during unconventional work hours, so babysitting should never be a problem.
Companies that fall into this category: Tupperware, Mary Kay, Avon, Celebrating Home, Pampered Chef, Celebrated Lights, Tastefully Simple, etc.
Childcare
Since stay at home moms are already handling their own children, some mothers take great satisfaction in helping other children, as well. From daycare centers to training courses, several moms have found success preparing groups of children for their futures. While extra trips to the grocery store will certainly be necessary, the rest of the day should not change all that much. As long as these stay at home moms have an itinerary for the day, it will not matter if they are caring for one or ten children. All that matters is that they are paying equal attention to each child, and of course, abiding by their local laws when it comes to at-home businesses.
Businesses that fall into this category: Daycare, babysitting, tutoring, instrument lessons, arts & crafts centers, sports training, etc.
No matter what type of business stay at home moms choose to enter, the important thing to note is that there are ample opportunities for stay at home moms. The amount of money mothers make will largely depend on the amount of time they are able to work as is the case with any job. Still, money can be made while spending time with their children and stay at home moms certainly cannot put a price on that blessing.
