Quality is of utmost importance in business. How do I know that? Because I am in a service industry, and with the products my company sells the quality of the product is regulated by the federal government. With that said, it really levels the playing field when it comes to competition. If your product is identical to the competition then how do you become successful? The one and only to become successful is by setting yourself apart from the crowd by giving quality service! Without quality service you will just blend in with the rest of the crowd and become one among a sea of the same.

If the "quality" of the product is governed then the next quality question becomes the service end. I strongly believe that if you provide a competitive product, at a reasonable price, and exceptional service then you will end up coming out on top. Having the quality service will set you apart and will bring you head and shoulders above the rest of the crowd. Once your customers learn that your service is what sets you apart, they will then begin to refer their friends and neighbors to you for your expertise in this given field.

To sum up, the quality of the product is not as important as the quality of the service. If you are in business or are thinking of going into business then you need to realize that quality is of the most importance, it may not be in the quality of the product, but in the service. Though there is a lot to be said about the quality of the products you sell or service. If there is no quality in the product, then the same can be said about customer referrals. They will receive the excellent service that you told them they would get, and they are very pleased with that.

Once the quality of the products comes to the surface, either by failure, or shorter than expected life of the product, then the customers will again tell all of their friends and neighbors. This may make your business suffer, and sometimes more than you may anticipate. As the word of the lower than standard quality products spreads, your business will diminish. When all is told, you need to be providing a product of reasonable quality, with service standards of the highest quality. This in itself will bring you and your business much prosperity.
