Wisdom, what is it, and how do we obtain it? In order to obtain wisdom, it is said that one must have experienced some, or all of the accumulated life experiences that one can. Only by this method, can you be classed as wise, because you have already been through certain experiences. Wisdom is the ability to be able to judge a situation correctly, once this is done, you can then follow the best course of action relevant to yourself. This knowledge can only be obtained by experiencing life, thus we store those experiences away and remember them for when similar experiences arise at any future point in time.
We may make the wrong decisions in our life, or go down the wrong pathway, but whatever we do, we will remember, and this is where hindsight comes in. Because with wisdom, will come hindsight too. There are many people who have said to themselves, how they wish they could have done things differently, if they had their life over again. This is what you call hindsight, and it is part of the learning process in life, part of being wise.
But is it hard to obtain wisdom?
Any man or woman cannot obtain wisdom, simply because they may have lived a long life - as very few of us can be 'wise'. There is a big difference between the two. Foolish men, or women are those that having made mistakes in their lives in the past, never learn from them. They continue through life making the same mistakes over and over without learning anything at all. These are those that will never be wise and will never listen to hindsight.
Wisdom is a gift, and it is given to those that are willing to learn from their life experiences. They then pass on their knowledge to other people, after maybe having experienced similar situations in their lives to those that are going through the same thing now. They can pass on their knowledge of how they handled certain situations, and events, and what course of action they took. It is very often to our parents or grandparents, {or even our teachers} that we turn too when we want advice, for they are very often our human guides in life, and the only reference point that some of us may have.
For they hold the knowledge that we need and may not have at that particular point in time. This may be our first experience of having a child, of going to school for the first time, of sitting at an interview for a job, or of experiencing death. We turn to those that know and have been through those things. Quite often, those people
