Out of the mouths of babes: The philosophical and often prophetic things children say

I have learned silence from the talkative, toleration from the intolerant, and kindness from the unkind; yet, strange, I am ungrateful to those teachers.
~Kahlil Gibrain

This is true. We are only grateful to those we create. Its not really a gratitude. Its more of an understanding and loyalty. Our kids do say the darndest things.
I think its important that we listen.

My dad is a child enforcement officer who finds himself around children day to day, still cant understand the rhetoric of our own kids.
I can't recall the things I said as a kid, but I do know that children are very wise.
Want an honest answer? Ask a three year old. I wish that I could keep one in my office at all times. I would have nothing but questions for them. What color is that shirt? Its blue. When it's actually turqouise. How is your hair? Its rough, which then describes the childs personality, or that of every child. They are innocent.
Children will open up to you with the smallest of details. I love listening to the child.
who cares what kind of dog it is, its a dog and its name is fluffy, hes brown with long hair and barks alot. This is what A child sees and this is what you get.
I have a 5 month old son and I can't wait for him to start talking. I know he's got alot to tell.
A child doesnt understand the meaning of punchline, so they laugh at almost anything.
Daddy, You're silly.
I love how people try and interpret a childs thought process by a picture they draw. I cannot even understand it. The child can tell you in about three words what they are thinking or feeling. Not by drawing scribbles.
I remember my cousin as a child told the teacher that the red light on a stop light meant, "Hit the Gas". Which is funny because a child interprets a parents fast lifestyle and how we all unmistakeably have ran a stop light and whats even more, tried to avoid one by slamming the gas pedal on a yellow light.
We are our childrens minds, there opinions and there actions. Look inside yourself, you will find your child.
Its that little voice inside your head that tells you to look over your shoulder, mommy's got the camera. But you ignore it because you are enjoying that moment.
Like I said, your child will mirror you when you speak. they will understand what you are saying if tell them.
I dont know why children say what they do. I can only say that they make life exciting.
This is what I look forward to. The simple things. Im sure my son will swear because he's heard me and mommy talking. - (stop gasping, you know you've done it too.)Like the song says, hes my little buckaroo, we have the same things in common, holding mommys hand.
Children keep it real, while we complicate things. Want a good Saturday? Sit down and talk to your child.. They'll give you the answers to things you've never imagined.
enjoy!
