This Fire Burns
A fire burns within my soul
Urging me to seek what I have lost.
Too long I was what others wanted me to be;
They tried to make me conform,
And I lost pieces of myself.
But the fire burns with me,
And I rise like the Phoenix reborn!
This flame consumes me,
Drives me on this eternal quest
To grow, to learn, to explore.
The ties that once did bind

Unfettered,
My soul flies
And, like the Phoenix
Rising from the ashes,
I am reborn unto myself
And this fire still burns within me!
