I buy and sell on ebay all of the time. After taking photos of the gown, you can list it on ebay in various formats. Ebay has a program that takes you through all of the steps to sell.

There are mutliple ways that you can sell your dress on ebay: auction, buy it now, or set a reserve.

When I sell clothing, I always take an upclose photo of the neckline and upper shoulder area and one of the entire garment and post both photos to my listing. The upclose photo allows the buyer to see much more clearly the type of neckline, shoulder area, buttons, and even the type of material. The photo at a distant allows the buyer to see how the garment hangs and the hemline. Always put in the details area all of the measurements - width across garment (underarm to the next underarm), the length from shoulder to hem, the sleeve length (outer measurement is best), and waist area on a dress (measuring around the whole garment in that area). For the more distant photo, you could have a friend try on the gown and take photos so that the buyer can see the fit and beauty of the garment. I always crop and lighten or darken my photos as appropriate to get the most from them - photos are extremely important to the buyer.

Always do some research before listing anything on ebay. Look at similar items that are listed to see how they are described, how much people are asking to start their auctions, how much for a buy it now amount, check the shipping amount they are asking for and type of shipping methods. This will give you ideas as to how to list your own item.
