Jones The Cat
You were born in our home, on a bright sunny day,
a sister not far behind.
With a nice shiny coat, and wide green eyes,
A prettier cat we could not find.
You were a nervous boy, right from the start,
You'd never be in our arms.
Your bestest friend, in the whole wide world,
was the dog who'd keep you from harm.
We named you after, a famous cat,
In space they can't hear you scream.
With Max the dog, and your ginger coat,
you made a formidable team.
You always were, a big old lad,
With strength far past your size.
A purr so loud, and paws so big,
and wide expressive eyes.
You lost your friend, as we did too,
and your world did fall apart.
But you realized that, we loved you too,
and you finally gave your heart.
You still didn't like, to be in our arms,
you'd scratch and run away.
You were happy though, to rub our legs,
and our company you did stay.
Your comical way, of rubbing our face,
with a paw so gentle and soft.
A quiet meow, and an anxious look,
You never appeared real tough.
The years passed by, you grew so old,
along with your affections.
Your shiny coat, once aglow,
grew dull with your afflictions.
With a heavy heart, and saddened soul,
we knew your time had come.
Under harsh bright lights, and dreary room,
we knew what had to be done.
We shed our tears, and hugged you close,
and took you in our arms.
You decided that, on your very last day,
you'd want to be safe from harm.
I felt your heart, give up the ghost,
it crossed the final ridge.
Your bestest friend, licked your nose,
took you over the Rainbow Bridge.
To Jones our cat, our pride and joy,
our heart strings will always tug.
We'll never forget, the love you brought,
and that very last final hug.

My Plant Killing Cat!
He arrived in my house, a small ginger ball.
Full of himself, no fear at all.
With his tiger stripes
Shining green eyes
Watching, quick.
A paw extended,
A delicate lick.
Stretch and leap,
Down to the floor.
Preen soft grey fur,
Just
I sleep, I eat, I sleep some more
I'm always watchful at the door
There isn't anything I miss
Except my empty cat food dish
