Promoting good education is an evolutionary process. It requires time, caring, perseverance, empathy and most importantly, educational competency. In my opinion, there can be various responding approach to such phraseology. One could take an idealistic approach and the other could process it via realistic means. Needless to say, either side is driven by its own philosophy on education. According to realism, in order to understand the present practical life, educators must focus on teaching the truth rather than beauty. In addition, there will be a great focus in acquisition of knowledge about the material world and the means to exploit both the “knowledge” and the “world” in order to command and control the impermanent nature.
Idealism centers its diligence to revere and pursue noble principles that are associated with the truth. Therefore studying the classics are highly encouraged in realism. The evolving process of these two distinct approaches will lead to humanism and materialism.
I believe in a school of thought that believes human beings are different from other species, and should be given primacy to the study of human needs and interests. This shall lead mankind to recognize its place in universe, enabling him to take a key role in maintaining the long existing equilibrium between civilization and nature.
This can be achieved by emphasizing individual’s capacity for self-realization through, and coherent reasoning, and logic. Societies or organizations, and communities are formed by individuals. Every individual’s character and persona is heavily influenced and formed by both environmental and academic experiences. These experiences will take a significant role in determining which direction a society will be headed. Obviously, a change in any given environment will not only manipulate its course, but also, it will significantly influence the means of expression of every individual within a society, organization or a community.
The quest for knowledge and evolving intelligence has always been a never-ending and purposeful two part process. The first part involves the manner in which it is received, and the second and most important part deals with its classification and application.
