Do Prayers Work

Do you believe that prayer is our hotline to God? Do we really understand the greatness, importance and distinction of prayer?
Do prayers work? Have you examined yourself why you do not spend more time with God? Is prayer a commitment to God or it is a commitment of God to us? Is prayer our first answer to all our needs and thoughts in life? Those are a few questions for most people who do not have a prayer life.

I do believe that prayer is our only hotline to God because it is the only key that will bring you closer to Him. If it is your hotline to God, then ignoring it, means we are setting God out of our lives. When we use prayer wrongly, we are abusing God's power and missing out what God has plan for us. Prayer is the most prototypical important aspect in every Christian Life. God must be our first priority and prayer make this happen.

In order our prayer works effectively remember the word A-C-T-S.

A for adoration honoring Christ makes our prayer life forms into realization that He has done good things in us.  Faith connects the sphere of our spirit with the sphere of matter and it is the foundation of our spiritual life. Faith gives us power. Hebrew 11:1 tells us that faith “is the assurance of things hoped for, the belief of things not seen.” Through faith, we can see all things are possible to God no matter what circumstances we are dealing with. Jesus told us that through faith, even a tiny amount the size of a mustard seed, we can achieve anything. “According to your faith, be it done to you,” he said (Matthew 9:29) No matter how dreadful our circumstances, faith enables us to fashion and change anew. In spite of what happens in the outside world, we are always guided by our trust in God.  When we pray we believe that there is a faultless pattern for fullness within every person, we allow that pattern to be spoken or expressed. The highest good constantly manifests within us when we open ourselves in receiving what is right for us. We can pray the following phrases such as “I love you Lord”, “I magnify your name Lord”, “and You are my Creator and my Savior”, etc. by these God will be please to us no matter how sinful we are.

C-for contrition – in it we admit our sins and ask the Lord for forgiveness and we convey our yearning to repent.  For Catholics, confession is one of the sacraments they usually practice. I remember a prayer that shocked the whole
