Cooking the perfect burger

This may surprise you but it is simple and the best way to cook a burger. First go to your grocery store, in the meat department, and pick out a nice sirloin tip roast. Go to the meat counter and ask the person to grind it up for you. They will do this upon request and package it up fresh for you. What you find after cooking it will amaze you.

Take a package open it up and start making patties. Wash your hands first! Take a chunk and roll it around in your hands to form a ball a little smaller than a tennis ball. then remember who you are mad at and smack that burger against your hand until it is semi flat. Do this until the package is empty. Place the burgers on a plate until ready to cook. Myself I put saran wrap over them until I am ready.

Get out the following spices: garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt and Worcestershire sauce.

Place a skillet on top of the stove and place 3-4 burgers in it. Take a container and pour enough water in the skillet to almost cover the burgers. Turn on the heat. Take the bottle of sauce and put about 8 good squirts on the burgers and in the water. Shake each powder in the skillet the same way at your own taste. You cannot really put too much or too little, remember these are your burgers now and you will learn to perfect this each time you make them.

When you see bubbles in  the water turn the heat to medium, and turn the burgers over one at a time. Lay the spat on top of the burger and with a fork press down to flatten the burger a little. I poke holes after this with the fork. Wait a couple of minutes and you will start to see the blood coming up out of the top of the burgers. That means it is time to turn them again and press them down one more time.

Repeat this about one or two more times within ten minutes. Remove from heat and drain the water off and you are ready to go. But if you desire a good cheeseburger leave a tiny bit of water in the skillet, not much, and place back on heat. Lay your cheese on top of each burger and let it melt. Turn off heat and place on buns. It is always a matter of preference but I like potato buns.

A slice of tomato, slice of onion and few pickles. I put salad dressing, ketchup mustard and a little hot sauce on mine and then they are ready to eat. You will be amazed at how juicy they are all the way through.. Very little grease, you poured that off with the water drainage.
