VOICES

That robotic female voice
With the charming British accent
Is so annoying
When I ride in the car
With my friend.

How she can think while
The Voice tells her what to do
Is a mystery
To me it’s a distraction
After 500 yards bear right
Then take the motorway
After 300 yards
Take the exit left
Then you have reached your destination.

There's a cheerful young woman
(who shall remain un-named)
That answers the phone
When I call the cable company
She says press one for English and
Two for Spanish
All of our representatives
Are currently serving other customers
Please stand by and someone will be with you shortly
Your wait time is approximately twenty minutes

I hate inanimate objects
That talk
Back in the day we had maps
And got lost

Mechanical voices
Are everywhere
In our homes in our cars and in our phones
Humans are an endangered species
In this brave new world

Your call has been forwarded to an automated voice messaging system.......
