The Second Coming.

Many  world  prophets  have  stated  that  the  next  great  teacher  will  come  from  Asia,  “a  man  from  the  East.”  This is  the  man  the  world  impatiently  waits  for,  the  man  many believe  will  not  come;  “The  Messiah.”

Christians  believe  that  Jesus  Christ  is  the  Messiah,  and his  second  coming  has  been  given  its  own  identification;  the word  parousia,  which  in  Greek  means  “coming,”  or  “arrival.”  It is  said  that  at  this  time  a  heavenly  sign  (another star?) will mark  the  return  of  Christ,  and  that  God  himself  will  administer his  judgment.

The  Messiah:  the  messenger  of  Yahweh;  the one who will restore  the  Jewish  nation  as  the  Chosen  People  of God.

But not only Christianity awaits the arrival of the Messiah, other religions and nations wait expectedly for their own saviour.

The  Messiah:  Muntazar  to  the  Orthodox  Sunnis,  he who  is  regarded  as  the  successor  to  Mohammed.  It  is  said  that at  the  end  of  time  Muntazar  will  unite  the  nations  of  the  earth through  understanding.

The  Messiah:  to  the  Shiite  sect  is  known  as  the twelfth  Imam;  Khidr  to  the  Sufi.  These  sects  all  regard  their Messiah  to  be  the  final  religious  leader  of  Islam.

The  Messiah:  To  the  Zoroastrians  he  is  Saoshyant, expected  to  arrive  around  the  year  2000.

The  Messiah:  To  the  Aztec  or  Mayan  people, is Quetzalcoatl,  believing  that  he  will  return,  and  establish  himself once  again.
