Best part time jobs for working professionals

Working professionals have a lot to offer in the way of expertise regarding their chosen profession.  This knowledge and wisdom gleaned through experience is a much valued service that can be offered to the community through part time jobs.

Many universities now offer on-line courses.  These institutions prefer to hire working professionals as adjunct professors because of the knowledge and experience they have in the field they will be teaching.  This fact is great for everyone involved.  The student has the advantage of an expert in the field of their study, the university has a professor who knows the curriculum well because he lives it everyday, and the working professional is teaching a course that he knows well.

Another means of part time employment is as a tutor or supervisor.  Graduate students in many fields are required to have a certain number of supervision hours before licensure.  As a supervisor the working professional is mentoring the student or entry level worker to enable them to grow in the field.  Although many agencies offer this service as a part of their internship program there are times when a student finds it necessary to hire someone for supervision.  This mentorship/student relationship benefits both parties.  The same goes for a student needing a tutor to help him prepare for exams, National Boards or understanding a subject which he may find difficult.  The working professional becomes a valuable asset in aiding the student to gain understanding and confidence.

It is also possible for the working professional to create a part time job writing articles about his field of expertise.  Not only are there venues like Helium but often magazines and newspapers will pay for articles if the article is written about a subject their readers would relate to.  With the right venue, a working professional can write a monthly or weekly column that brings in part time wages.

And let's not forget keynote speaking, training sessions and seminars.  Who better to speak and or teach on their subject matter than someone who works in the field?  The benefit of this part time job is that the professional can say yes or no to the engagement.  If he has abillity and the time away from his busy workload it is a valuable way to provide part time employment.

The great thing about part time jobs for working professionals is that they provide a means for experts in the field to share their expertise with the rest of the world.  This is a win win situation for everyone involved.
