From the time I was small
I thought no, not me
I will never, not ever
Be treated like debris
As time shuffled on
Years passed me by
I thought no, not me
As I heard lie after lie
Confirmation overwhelming
Right in front of my face
No, can't happen to me
Avoided thoughts of disgrace
Opened my eyes one day
Tried to face reality
Oh this can't have happened
No, this just cannot be
Remembering the dreams
Of youth and of age
Locked up and imprisoned
Seethed anger and rage
I always thought
Never could happen
But it did, had to face it
Horrid thoughts to fathom
One day I woke up
And thought no, not to me
I won't stand for it anymore
So I set myself free
Those years are long gone
Hard to even remember
One thing stands in my mind
Never again, not ever

Unfaithful and unkind...not me,
rude and obnoxious...not me;
abusing and accusing...not me
dishonest and judgemental...not

When I was a child and there was ice cream to be had
It would cheer me up if I was sad
Who ate all the ice cream
Love is responsibly alive.
It thrives in me, and in you,
not in me you say to me today,
but I say, know love too.
Why me? Why
by Jo Dawkins
I will not hear you
cry out. I will not
run and hold you
so you won't go.
I have lived here
in anger without you.
