I think that it is fairly obvious that most people agree that David Lee Roth was the better singer for Van Halen. Better show man yes. Better singer? No. Sammy Hagar brought so much more to the table. He pulled that band out of the toilet that Eddie was flushing it down. He gave it a new sound. Eddie Van Halen should be ashamed of himself for  what he did to Sammy. Sammy Hagar brought Van Halen back to life. Van Halen was finished, and everyone knows it.

As a musician, I know how Sammy feels to be asked to leave a band. It's not a good feeling. Especially when you've given all that you got to the band mates, and they just give you some lame excuse like, "We're not gelling". Not gelling? We had been gelling. What happened? Exactly. What happened? Music is an art that is supposed to be fun. If it's not fun, then it isn't music. It seems to me that Sammy was having too much fun. I think the songs he contributed were awesome. I think he gave them some of the best music for their time. Face it. You have to keep up with the industry, and Eddie Van Halen was not keeping up. Have you noticed who is still putting out quality music? But, the debate is about David Lee Roth or Sammy Hagar.

David Lee Roth certainly carried the vocals for Van Halen exceptionally well. Once again without him, Van Halen would be nothing. Even his solo career is turning out better than the present day Van Halen. Eddie, What have you done. You've given a pompous David Lee the edge over your your band. David Lee Roth is a showman. that's it nothing more. Where is he now? Sammy Hagar is still producing and playing and writing quality music for all generations. Sammy Hagar still has a strong heavy lead vocal voice, and David Lee Roth sounds like a chronic smoker with a microphone stuck in his throat, not in front of it. It's a shame that it has come to this.

David Lee Roth is a has been. He, like Eddie Van Halen is washed up. That's another reason why Sammy Hagar is the better lead singer for Van Halen. Make no mistake about it, if Sammy Hagar was still in Van Halen, they would still be putting out sustainable music. Eddie, you should be ashamed of yourself. and, I haven't even begun to give my opinion on what happened with Michael Anthony. That will be for another time. Until then, keep on rocking with the red rocker Sammy Hagar.
