The pros and cons of a “Two Party System” are quite well known - at least, the pros are anyway! Those being the natural functioning and result of a thoroughly polarized and widely divided political electorate; such as, the ongoing necessity for situational compromise on the part of both major political parties, in an effort to effect socially relevant and culturally significant change. This lends any society, having embraced it, a great deal of inherent political stability; a more moderated flow of incremental societal change; and prevents radical political elements from ascending to unwise political power or societal dominance over the electorate.
However, that is in a more perfect world, where the two dominant [and majority] political parties fully-represent true extremes of electoral and ideological polarization. Meanwhile, the same cannot be said of the current Democrat and Republican parties. Neither, of which, represent true opposites toward one another! The Democratic-Republican Party has [honestly] never fully-divided itself ideologically, since before The American Civil War. How can I say this you ask? Easily....
Both parties are inherently Fascist in ideological origin, and products of the "Leftist Progressive Movement," which started in the 1870’s over in Europe and eventually spread here in the 1880’s. For example, consider this more accurate definition of Fascism:
Fascism: A politico-economic system denoted by extreme nationalism, and direct societal regulation of all privately held personal and corporate assets for the purposes of perceived societal benefit. These perceived benefits, often include: Centralized Planning Of Infrastructural Assets, Efficiency Of Standardization, Environmental Protection, Societal Safety, Public Health, National Defense, or even International Economic Advantage.
Verses that of Capitalism:
Capitalism: An economic system based upon strict property ownership, wherein all rights and authorities are vested fully in the hands of the property owner.
Which one is more indicative of: our nation, its political policies, and its two dominant politically posturing parties? If they, then, are inherently Fascist - in their overall political ideology, where will the median and/or average of our political electorate inevitably fall? Under the ruler-ship of Centralized and Bureaucratic Fascism. Of course... Where else?
For around 100 years, our nation has
