My best friend, no one knows
She follows me wherever I go.
In the valleys dark and deep
She holds me tight and together we weep.
We ponder sorrows, pain, regrets
And she won’t ever let me forget
The mountains we have stood upon
The battles we have fought and won
Love that remains deep and true
A path when it seems there’s not one to choose
Though not real, she strokes my hair
And lends me a shoulder when no one cares
She is never busy, or out with friends
Always there in the silent end
We rock ourselves to sleep sometimes
And in a mirror I can see her smile
A fading image of a simple girl
Almost tainted by a crazy world
My best friend will keep me clear
And hold the reason I am here
To live to love to laugh and find
That my best friend was me all the time
