Melancholy baby, singing broken hearted tunes,
Tears that fall inside your soul, I hear the painful croon.
I wish I knew what I could do, to make this pain foregone.
But all that I can offer you, is a shoulder to cry on.
Wash your face, and comb your hair, my baby hear my plea~
I promise I will stay right here, and play for you and sing,
You must not hum the blues, for it’s not worth the loss and pain.
Your hurtin’s all but done now, for there’s nothing left to gain.
She gets up in the morning, still my melancholy baby,
I play her songs, and jazzy tunes, and think that one day maybe
She’ll come outside her shell, and sing with me, I’d be surprised!
But she will not smile for nothing; she just hurts inside and cries.
At night, she lays her head upon my shoulder, as she weeps~
Get up, let’s do the town tonight, and claim it ours to keep!
Smile for me my baby, and put on them dancing shoes!
She looks at me, and moans the words, of painful heartfelt blues.
The morning comes, I bring her flowers, and I see her smile.
“Thanks for lending me a shoulder I could lean on for awhile,”
I hug her tight and tell her that is just what friends are for~
To offer shoulders to cry on, and love to rely on, and hope forevermore.

Here's my shoulder to cry on when in need
Tuck yourself safely underneath my wing
Lean on me and I'll try to understand
And
Mary winces from the force of a contemptuous stare
Privileged eyes neither compassionate nor aware
No one sees the devastation
A shoulder to cry on is what I will offer you...forever
You live far away, our paths no longer cross, however, you know that
I will give you a shoulder to cry on,
A shoulder that's firm to your touch,
A friend you can love and rely on,
When everything's
