My favorite show is Good Times because it brings up issues of many family values taught by the mother and the father in a Chicago projects. The show spoke about issues like child abuse, poverty, The VD disease, and even discrimination. James Evans Sr. yelled at the world because he wanted his three children, JJ, Thelma, and Michael to have chances that he never had. Florida was a former maid, who worked keep the children in line, especially when it came to the hassles between JJ and Thelma. Their neighbor, Wilona was Florida's best friend, who always tell gossip about the other folks in the projects. Every time The Evans family make plans to move out the projects, something always goes wrong. This started when James went to Mississippi to look for a job. During a going-away party, Florida read a telegram about James, being killed in an auto accident. After a wake for James, Florida realized he was gone forever. During that time, Florida decided to remarry again, only this time, it was Carl Dixon. While on her honeymoon with her new hubby, JJ meet a little girl named Penny Gordon, who was abused by her mother. Wilona decided to do something about the situation by adopted the abused child. During that time, there were changes in the Evans household. Michael plays Casanova and get caught joyriding while trying to take Penny to a skating lesson. JJ worked at an advertising agency where he thought he would get a promotion. Florida came home from her honeymoon to find out that Thelma is getting married to a football player named Keith Anderson. They thought that they were getting out of the projects then, but Keith breaks his leg during the wedding after tripping over JJ. After 133, Good Times was canceled after all the controversy that was caused by the JJ character. There many episodes that made me laugh and some that scared me a little. Jimmie Walker came up with the catch phrase, Dynomite. During the first, second, and fourth season, James, JJ, and Florida called Michael the militant midget. It was funny every-time they said it. They also make fun of head janitor, Nathan Bookman by calling him buffalo butt. Wilona always calls him booger or hippo because of his fatness. Keith and Bookman always done intimations of msny actors like Bill Cosby, John Wayne, and even Wolf-man Jack. Michael is the most talented out of the whole family because of his singing even though he is always protesting. Other than all that, I think that Good Times is a funny show because it brought black and white audience together.
