Poetry: Longing for your love

by Barry Williams

Created on: February 22, 2010

Oh that that wondrous sight

Ere morning comes and sheds the light

On couples who danced to a Bacchus tune

Reality comes all too soon

Lying there their arms enfolded

Passions  of last night  and actions emboldened

By the promise of love eternal

Matched only now by headaches  infernal

Two lost souls  passing in the night

Collided shipwrecked  swore with all might

They had found true love and ended  the search

No fear now of being left in the lurch

Said he I've been longing for your love

Said she it's a blessing from Him above

So they married  as soon as they both recovered

Which was just as well as they soon discovered
