Poetry: Monsters

by Tom Mcmurray

Created on: February 22, 2010

In blackness you shall beckon me come nigh
for in your darkest dreams my presence made
puts trust to lustful longings in each sigh:
Awakened-yet awake be not afraid.

Conjoined this Hallowed eve with demons all
to celebrate collective hate this night;
recounting our Messiah's early fall,
forever banished from angelic light.

For I am that which lives forevermore.
I prey on tender young ones fast asleep,
with one consenting thrust I pierce their core:
both blood and soul release as I drink deep!

These creatures do emit their living heat,
felt here above this body where I stand,
which escalates my need with every beat
of this young blood-stuffed heart held in my hand.

The death of greater purpose now has been
completed for we dead who walk the night,
quite nourished by your layers, lewd with sin,
which strengthens us in our eternal flight.

I shall be the keeper of each luscious soul
when gifted to my own rapacious need
and I will take with me each spirit, whole,
to long reside inside my breast to feed.
