Through your eyes, images implanted.
Memories of family, the stencil of a familiar face,
The outline of the lake, an unforgotten place.
Joyous events please evermore.
Retention is mine, recollection is yours.
Through your ears, sounds safely stored.
Familiar songs, the call of the lark in the summer morn,
The bleating of the lamb, the infant newborn.
Joyous events please evermore.
Retention is mine, recollection is yours.
Through your mouth, tastes trained in tightly.
Distant cuisine, your favorite dessert,
Paired with the smells, to which I'll alert
Joyous events to please evermore.
Retention is mine, recollection is yours.
Smells of the past, warm summer nights.
Spectacular stars, bringing delight.
Memories we never wish to lose from sight.
Remain unchaste, for these are forever more.
Bring me such joys and forever I'll store.
For retention is mine, recollection is yours.

YOU CAN'T FORGET
You hold your chin up,
higher than you should...
you have so much more pride,
than I ever could.
You walk so
Whisper wind, through the remaining chimes
distant, weak.
The house is peeling, like my skin
The sun is blaring, like my mind.
